What happens during a sound journey?

Magic of Sound journeys start with an introduction to the experience, followed by a humming exercise.

We do prolonged humming for three reasons :

1 — To create vibrations inside the body, release tensions, and relax the mind through dynamic concentration.
2 — To explore the power of our own voice and develop a connection with it.
3 — To learn that the vibrations produced by our vocal chords create the same therapeutic effect as listening to the sound of singing bowls.

After this short ‘voice exercise’, you will lay on your back with your eyes covered … and off you go.

・・・

When you ‘come back’ you will be shown a live water demo and a brief explanation of the theories behind sound healing. This part helps you understand the magic. ✨

Make your journey extra comfy.

Our body temperature drops when we enter a lucid dreaming state.

To enjoy the experience fully, I recommend bringing the following.

・ yoga mat ・ pillow ・ blanket ・

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before start time so you can relax, get settled, and be considerate to all the other beautiful humans joining the trip.

The magic of sound.

Some guests report having an out-of-body experience where they say they feel present in the room but no longer within their physical self.

Some guests report having flashes of a traumatic past memory. (This could allow them to later on process this memory, and how it may affect their behavioural patterns.)

Some guests report having colourful patterns and psychedelic visions that make no sense to the rational mind.

Some guests go deeper and enter a relaxed state, where they feel they had fallen asleep and drifted away to the back of beyond.

Wherever your journey takes you, it will be an experience to remember.

Magic of Sound guests share their experiences here.

The science of sound.

There are five levels of brain waves : Beta ・ Alpha ・ Theta ・ Delta ・ Gamma.
The waves are measured by cycles per second, known as Hertz (Hz)

When we are awake and physically active, our brain runs on Beta (± 14—40 Hz), allowing us to function as we are used to — alert and logical. The flipside of being alert and logical is that it also puts us on guard, which is why we are often restless and tense.

Sound waves from singing bowls slow down rapid brain waves.

Exposure to the vibrations of the bowls alters the state of consciousness to Alpha (± 8—13 Hz). Alpha waves are said to be the gateway to the subconscious mind. They are present when we are calm, and when we are accessing our memory and our imagination.

When we enter Theta (± 3—8 Hz), we enter a lucid dreaming state; neither awake nor asleep, but deeply relaxed. This is when it feels as though we have detached from our outer world and travelled through our inner world, our conscious mind.
